Leigh and James' wedding at Irmo Park in Columbia

Leigh and James' wedding at Irmo Park in Columbia

Leigh and James were married at Irmo park in Columbia and I have to say, it might be one of the most unique weddings I've photographed. See, it wasn't your "traditional" wedding. It was just the two of them. So it was more like an engagement session or an after wedding session than an actual wedding ceremony, but that only made it better from a photography stand point. We got to focus entirely on them. No guest, no looking for uncle Mike. Just me and them and some beautiful wedding photography.

Andrea and Grants wedding at the River Road and Jasmine House in Columbia

Andrea and Grant, who might just be one of my favorite couples ever, got married at the River Road and Jasmine house in Columbia. The ceremony was beautiful and the party after was really fun.  They ended the night with in a blaze of glory as they walked through the sparklers.

Lauren & Alex's Wedding in Bluffton

Lauren and Alex got married in Bluffton, SC and I have to say it might have been the most beautiful wedding I've gotten to shoot all year. It was outside over looking the May River with Spanish Moss hanging off all the trees. The weather called for rain, but it held off and light was just gorgeous all day. They were such and amazing couple and it was such an amazing wedding that I had a really hard time just picking a few to post to the blog, so instead, here are a whole bunch to look at!

Melody and John's Wedding

Melody and John have to go down as one of my all time favorite couples. They were so much fun to be around and we had such a great time doing their engagement and wedding photography. There wedding was absolutely stunning with the help of By Invitation Only and Big Time Entertainment. The Wedding was held at Seibel's House in Downtown Columbia. The cake by Parkland Cakes was beautiful and tasty. So many wonderful moments happened at their wedding that it would be impossible to recount all of them, so instead, here are a few (ok more than a few) of my favorites.

Lori and Scott's Old Town Family Wedding

Lori and Scott got married in the small country town of Fort Lawn outside of Columbia, SC she grew up visiting her grandmother in. Not long before Lori's wedding, her grandmother passed away and as a tribute to her grandmother, Lori decided to hold the ceremony in her grandmother's home church and the reception at her Grandmother's historic home. It was a beautiful wedding filled with laughter and family. Lori and her now husband Scott did an amazing job coordinating all the details around her grandmother's home. From the old family heirlooms to the fresh new flowers, Lori's wedding was truly a celebration of love and family. Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding day.

Lindsay and Brian's Wedding Teasers

Lindsay and Brian got married at Cornerstone Presbyterian and had their beautiful reception at Saluda Shoals park in Columbia. Lindsay and Brian were such an amazing couple to work with. They were fun and easy going and most of all they liked to have as much fun as I do. Lindsay was an absolutely stunning bride. You can see her bridal portraits here, Brian was also very handsome and with the addition of the classic British Triumph convertible, he looked very suave indeed. Perhaps even a little James Bond.

The ceremony itself was beautiful and elegant and the reception was a blast thanks to BigTime Entertainment keeping everyone celebrating well into the night.

Lindsay's Bridal Portraits

Well, last week Lindsay got married and so I can finally show some of her beautiful images from her Bridal photography session.  We chose to photographer her bridal portraits at the Inn at USC, which is a beautiful little hotel in down town Columbia, SC right out side of the University of South Carolina Campus. Lindsay made a beautiful bride and I loved some of her portraits. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Kelli & Kyle's Wedding Teasers

There are just some couples that make being a wedding photographer fun and easy. Kelli and Kyle were that kind of couple. Besides being beautiful, Kelli was so easy going and so much fun to be around that I had a hard time no taking amazing photos of her. Kyle was also just a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. Together they made one of the best couples I've had the joy to photograph.

Kelli and Kyle got married at St. Peter's Catholic church in downtown Columbia. The reception was held at the Columbia Convention Center. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was energized and beautiful.

Kelli and Kyle had an amazing team of professional wedding vendors working for them. Besides yours truly photographing the wedding, they also had Bill Grant of Cinema Couture shooting the wedding videographer and BigTime Entertainment rocking the reception. Flowers were arranged Rex Woolbright and Melanie Murphy's team at By Invitation Only helped make sure everything flowed smoothly. It was a wonderful night and a beautiful gathering of friends and family to watch Kelli and Kyle get married.

Here are a few of my favorite photographs from their wedding. Enjoy.

Ron and McKenzie's Wedding

Ron and McKenzie are an amazing couple. I've had so much fun shooting everything from there actual engagement (yes where he dropped to one knee and proposed) to McKenzie's Bridal Portraits and now their wedding. It was so much fun and it's been a blast to be apart of their coming together. They got married at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta and like Ron and McKenzie it was both beautiful and fun.

Molly and Will's John's Island Wedding

Molly and Will got married on a family friends plantation on John's Island in Charleston, SC. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and couldn't have been more picture perfect. From the barn, to the flowers, to the cake with a funfetti layer it. It was a wonderful day with an amazing couple! Will was actually one of my college roommates and so it was a lot of fun to spend time with some old friends, make some new ones and shoot some stunning wedding images. Here are a few of my favorites.

Teresa and Eric's Wedding Photography

A misty spring rain lent a lovely, soft atmosphere to Teresa and Eric's romantic and intimate wedding. The couple exchanged vows overlooking acres of gorgeous lakefront property at Timberlake Country Club in Chapin, with a hundred of their closest family and friends looking on. Every detail of the elegant ceremony and after-party were masterfully planned by Meagan Warren Weddings, from the lush and pretty blossoms carefully crafted by Rex Woolbright of Weddings by Woolbright, to the music by Simply Strings. TJ McKay of Partytime DJs kept the dance floor packed all night long with a blend of hip hop, disco, dance, house and party favorites. The wedding was fun, sweet, festive and absolutely beautiful...a fitting tribute to an amazing couple who is clearly so much in love. The day started off raining heavily and even though Teresa and Eric had a tent as a back up the grass underneath still flooded, so they went to plan C and held the ceremony under the over hang. By the time the ceremony started the rain had stopped, but the sun hadn't come out. Which is actually a great thing for photographers. The clouds created a beautiful soft light that made it a wonderful light to work in. Here are a few of my favorite wedding photographs from the day.

Favorite Wedding Photos of 2012

Well, it’s that time of year again. Wedding season is starting to kick in and soon I’ll be photographing wedding and having a great time with some amazing couples. I’ve always enjoyed photographing weddings. It’s actually one of the first professional things I did as a photographer. Way back when I was fourteen I shot my first wedding. So I guess you could say I’ve been at it a while.

2012 was a crazy year for me, both personally and professionally. I had a lot of wonderful brides and shot some beautiful weddings. I even went as far as St. Lucia to photography a beautiful Caribbean destination wedding.

So before I start posting all the new wedding teasers, engagement sessions and bridal portraits coming up this year. I wanted to take a little time to look back at 2012 and share some of my favorite wedding images. These are some images that I pulled out simply because I liked them. It’s hard to find just 10 from 10,000 but here goes.

Kim and Chris' Wedding - A Time Lapse video

Sometimes you just have to do something a little crazy. I decided to set up a time lapse camera at a Destination wedding on Hilton Head Island, at St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church. It was a beautiful wedding and the time lapse is really fun to watch. It shows the ceremony and a little of the photography after.

Sarah and Barry’s Woodcreek and Wildewood Wedding

Sarah and Barry’s evening wedding at Woodcreek & Wildewood Country Club was the picture of sophistication. Guests watched the beautiful couple exchange vows in a romantic candlelit ceremony, and then the entourage headed to the reception, where thanks to the sounds and lighting of Cameron Glover, of Big Time Entertainment, they disco-danced for hours (with a little hip-hop and R&B thrown in for good measure). Sarah was breathtakingly beautiful, and she and Barry made for a cute, loving couple who kept their friends laughing all night. It was a gorgeous wedding and tons of fun.
